Elvis Baltais
Founder of Baltais Dynamics. I still write the code.
I turn my own ideas into apps people actually use. Self funded, built on my own terms, shipped when they're done.

Who I am

I started as a developer and never stopped being one. I founded Baltais Dynamics so I could build my own ideas instead of someone else's. I run it the way I write code: hands on, every detail.
Everything here is mine. My ideas, my bets, my money. No clients setting the roadmap. I build the things I want to exist and hold them to a standard I'd be glad to live with.
I'm not in a hurry. I'd rather ship one app I believe in than ten I don't. Built quietly from Latvia, between long winters and early mornings.
“I don't ship what I wouldn't use myself.”
The work
I’ve been shipping since I was seventeen.
I made my first website sale in 2011, back when the web was still built by hand. I sliced close to 500 PSD files into living sites and shipped more than 500 websites. 200 to 300 of them ran on WordPress, and 50 to 60 were full online stores.
These days I build my own cross platform apps instead of other people's sites. Six so far, and counting.
For 7+ years and counting, I've worked as a senior developer for an international company that serves millions of people a year, where I own its client facing widgets end to end, from zero to deployment.

Writing
I write about building apps as a solo founder: the monetization, the translation grind, the parts nobody tells you about.
